Samsung W150F Review

I mentioned on my previous post that the camera I used in taking photos is SAMSUNG W150F. I decided to make a post about it. Yes, maybe a review. Let me show you some pictures first:

The camera is boxed with a quick start guide, a CD which contains Intelli- Studio, PC Auto Backup, Adobe Reader and User Manual. It also has, of course, the charger, USB cord and leather camera bag. And instead of a 4GB card, we had an 8GB card!

Samsung W150F is a 14.2 megapixel camera and has 18x optical zoom, 24mm wide Schneider- KREUZNACH lens. It has a 3" intelligent LCD, which results to a high resolution hVGA display. It has high sensitivity ISO 3200. What's even greater is that this camera has a full manual mode unlike the other digital camera. The full manual consists of Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual where you can manually adjust both shutter and aperture priority.

Full Manual Mode; Shutter Priority. Slow Shutter

It has different photo effects and modes like fisheye, miniature effect, live panorama, mode for daylight and many more. You'll never run out of effects; you'll enjoy this camera.

Fisheye

Split Photo

Scary Effect (Hehe. forgot what the effect called)

... and many more..

It also offers an HD movie recording. In addition to this, it also has a built-in Wi-Fi. Meaning, anywhere you are, as long as there's a Wi-Fi connection you can upload and share your photos with your friends in Facebook, email and other social networking sites. It also supports PC Auto Backup.

Here's the sample video. From my mom's high school reunion. hehe. Enjoy!

When you upload through the camera, it will create a new album entitled W150F.
It uploads high quality photos.

There's just one thing that I don't like with this. It's when taking photos; it seems that the shutter reacts slow which result to not capturing photos the moment I want to; can't capture sudden moments. When you click the shutter, you'd thought you captured the photo but actually it didn't. Huh. That's frustrating. But all in all, it's nice and I recommend this to those who just started photography and doesn't have the budget for DSLR yet. Also recommended for travel photographers since it is compact. Price ranges from $200 to $250.

  1. Hmm I have just ordered this camera and I have mixed feelings. It is not as cheap as other really bad cameras, but I am still not sure about the image quality. I've had dozens of compacts like that and except from pentax v20 they were all very crappy (including sony cybershot compact and pentax s1). For me the most important are: overall image quality and colours. I saw yesterday some samples and I chose this samsung. Will see what it is worth.
